Dr. Dinesh C. Sharma was born in 1973. His fields of specialization are Molecular biology and Bio-musicology (Scientific Music Therapy). Prof. Dinesh C Sharma is a leading figure in the field of bio-musicology and serves as the founder chairman of the Indian Association of Music Therapy, a prestigious organization committed to promoting the integration of music therapy into healthcare and wellness practices in India and known as Father of Bio-musicology (scientific music therapy) with his scholar. He establishes IAMT with a motto to “Establish music as a tool of therapy to treat various disorders scientifically and establish music to use as a drug in future”. He has been teaching and researching in Government Colleges of U.P. since 2000. More than 150 of his research papers and articles have been published in journals, magazines, souvenirs, proceedings, and newspapers of national and international repute. His 6 books were published by an international publisher. He has participated in 31 training courses on various topics and organized 19 seminars, conferences, and workshops. Under his supervision, 2 candidates were awarded M.Phil and more than 800 students completed their projects. His lectures and interviews are telecast on various television channels from time to time. He is also assigned additional work as Member-NEP-2020 Task Force U.P., Member-NEP-2020 Steering Committee of U.P., State Syllabus reorientation committee, ABACUSUP, NCC Syllabus committee, State Nodal Officer-Online education, Nodal Officer (Directorate)-RUSA, Member PAB-RUSA, Advisor-UPSAAC, SLQAC, and Website by government. He is honored by Shiksha Rattan Purshakar-2013, Shichak Shree Samman-2015 (UP State Award) and IAES-gold medal (2019).Sumbul Zehra was born in 1996. She a prominent figure in the field of scientific use of music therapy (Bio-musicology) and is known as the Father of Bio-musicology (scientific music therapy) with his mentor jointly. Her work focuses on utilizing music as a therapeutic tool to address various mental, emotional, and physical health challenges. Through her expertise, she’s contributed significantly to the understanding of how music can positively impact individuals’ well-being. As the CEO of the Indian Association of Music Therapy, Ms. Zehra leads the organization in its mission to elevate the practice and understanding of music therapy throughout India. Under her direction, the association serves as a catalyst for research, education, and advocacy in the field, striving to integrate music therapy into mainstream healthcare and wellness initiatives across the country. Zehra’s visionary leadership and dedication have been instrumental in advancing the impact and reach of music therapy and Bio-musicology in India, enriching the lives of individuals and communities through the power of music. She is a renowned researcher and scholar who has made significant contributions to understanding the biological basis of music perception and cognition in the Indian context. Zehra’s work spans across various disciplines, including neuroscience, psychology, and musicology, as she explores the intricate connections between biology and music in Indian culture. Through her research, she sheds light on how factors such as genetics, brain function, and cultural upbringing influence the way individuals perceive and experience music in India.
